Movie Nights Club ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from the identity provider. We use this to create and identify your account.

App usage data. We store information you create within the app, including:

• Groups you create or join
• Movies and TV shows you add to watchlists
• Votes in movie night polls
• Reviews, ratings, and chat messages
• Watch status (want to watch, watching, watched)

Device information. We may collect basic device information (OS version, app version) for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide core app functionality (groups, watchlists, polls, chat)
• To display your profile to other group members
• To send notifications about group activity (polls, new messages)
• To improve the app and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, and real-time features. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Google Sign-In — Authentication. Google receives information about the sign-in request. Google Privacy Policy
• Apple Sign In — Authentication. Apple may provide a relay email address to protect your real email. Apple Privacy Policy
• TMDB (The Movie Database) — Movie and TV show metadata (titles, posters, descriptions). We do not share your personal data with TMDB. TMDB Privacy Policy

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases with row-level security (RLS) enabled. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Access to your group data is restricted to group members.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized data (e.g., aggregate poll results) may be retained.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format

7. Children's Privacy

Movie Nights Club is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
